Melba has recently been awarded the internationally
recognised environmental standard ISO 14001 signifying
Melba's commitment to the implimentation of the highest
environmental standards.
Extensive Research and Development activities are
carried out at the plant, and Melba was the first
textile company in Australia to be accredited to the
automotive quality standard QS 9000.
Melba Industries was awarded Toyota Australia's President's
Supplier Award Nomination for Materials, Services
& Consumables Supply
in 2001.
Melba was awarded the Gordon Institute of TAFE's "Employer
of the Year" in 2000, in recognition of its commitment
to employee training.
Melba's Geelong Weaving Mill utilises cutting edge
technology in manufacturing woven fabrics for domestic
and export customers.
Future
Directions
Since 1996, Melba has invested some $14 million
into its weaving operations, in order to remain as
Australia's premier technical textile fabric manufacturer.
Melba will ensure to continue to secure niche opportunities
in this region of the world, especially through these
